For the designers and writers and general freelancers out there, this is one of the more inspired places in Brooklyn you can find in which to pursue that dream. The people are awesome with a great mix of backgrounds. The space has a great aesthetic that lends itself well to calm and creative thinking. There is plenty of space where you can chill and take a break if necessary. Rent is reasonable. And Porter and Sarah are two of the coolest folks you'll ever meet.
I have since moved away from Brooklyn, but Nowhere Studios absolutely saved my ass for more than a year. I was swamped in course work at Brooklyn College and desperately trying to make an impact as a fledgling screenwriter. The environment at Nowhere encouraged a productivity I have not been able to match elsewhere and simultaneously gave me a place to have singular focus, but also feed off the creative vitality of others hard at work in my field and forging their own different paths. The changing neighborhood adds to the positive energy of the work space - not because it is being gentrified - but because the vibrant core of Bed-Stuy is being roused with a feeling of new possibility. Every time I wandered out to look for lunch, I found a new local joint that mirrored and enhanced the work I was getting done during my work day. I get a little restless and need to change my vantage point when I get in a rut. I never felt too crowded at Nowhere, although the place was often full. There are great places throughout the space (up the spiral staircase!) to recharge your batteries and reload before you get back to work. And when the work day was done, what a treat meeting with such a great group of young creative people! Porter and Sara have fostered a wonderful vibe that makes it as easy to stick to your own thing as it is to expand your social circle and get energized meeting peers with like minds and like hearts. Couldn't endorse Nowhere Studios with more fervor. I look forward to getting back there as soon as possible!
A++ for Nowhere Studios. Has a comfortable vibe and nice amenities. And there's also an awesome roof where you can go to have a conversation or daydream when you are stuck! Most importantly, I get so much done. Love this space, and the cool folks I've met there.
Really nice studio. Looks like a great place to work and have a desk. Vibey and chill.
Nice I like this place in like two people
